ROLE DETAILS
We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and meticulous Scientist or Engineer to join my clients Printhead Development team in Berlin or Cambridge. The focus of this role is on advancing the technology of ultra-high viscosity fluids for inkjet hardware in the 3D printing industry.
EXPERIENCE
- Assess and evaluate the technology of potential early printhead prototypes through design of experiments.
- Develop and optimise printhead waveforms and operating parameters for a range of ultra-high viscosity fluids in collaboration with the materials development team, external partners, and research institutes.
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans to evaluate printhead performance.
- Identify gaps in current technology and define new internal requirements to enhance printhead operation and drop formation control, aligning with the printer and materials roadmap.
- Contribute to building the company's knowledge base and best practices by delivering high-quality documentation.
- Assist in troubleshooting field issues related to printhead quality or reliability.
- In-depth understanding of piezo inkjet drop formation.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher degree in a physical science or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in inkjet technology, particularly in a similar role.
- Experience in hardware testing.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to think creatively and develop elegant solutions.
- Broad and robust technical and physics knowledge.
- Hands-on approach, with the ability to independently devise, set up, and run experiments, as well as proactively develop equipment and methods.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, including leading technicians.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and customers.
